On the occasion of Family Day 2026, IMESA celebrates what makes every achievement special: people, relationships and valuable partnerships.
For this event, we have chosen to collaborate with Sea the Change, an organisation committed to sustainability and ocean protection, adding another important step to our journey towards a more responsible future.

We collect the data
We gather the available information on the Family Day’s activities, energy use and resources.
We calculate the footprint
Sea the Change measures the event’s overall carbon footprint.
We reduce and offset
We identify effective reduction strategies and offset the event’s residual emissions.
A nature-based response from the Venice Lagoon.
The event’s residual emissions will be calculated and offset through Blue Carbon Credits generated in the Venice Lagoon.
Sea the Change’s project supports the sustainable management of the Venice Lagoon’s fishing valleys, where macroalgae and phytoplankton play a fundamental role in capturing and storing CO₂.
These organisms act as natural carbon reservoirs, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change and maintain the balance of the lagoon ecosystem.
They are instruments that quantify the carbon absorbed or avoided through environmental restoration projects and the sustainable management of marine and coastal ecosystems.

The precise quantity of emissions generated and the number of carbon credits will be determined after the event, based on the data collected and the information available.
