On May 6th, Sea the Change attended the conference "Sostenibilità, Sicurezza e Innovazione nei servizi di Facility Management" at the Ara Pacis Auditorium in Rome, as the responsible party for the sustainable management of the event.

The initiative, promoted by Coopservice on the occasion of Safety Week, saw the participation of representatives from the institutional, political, academic, and professional worlds to reflect on how the concept of workplace safety should be extended to the sphere of personal and work well-being, integrating attention to technological innovation and environmental protection in business processes.

The day began with institutional greetings from Roberto Olivi, president of Coopservice, who emphasized the importance of investing in protective and welfare actions to support employees and emphasised the constant commitment to innovation and sustainability, highlighting the achievements reached by the company in terms of safety, employment, and inclusion.

Afterwards, the conference was officially opened by a speech given by Renato Brunetta, president of CNEL, followed by a roundtable discussion that involved representatives from institutions, businesses, and regions. Participants included: Roberta Angelilli, Vice President of the Lazio Region; Carlo Bassanini, Commercial Director of Coopservice; Teresa Bellanova, former Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies (via video message); Andrea Ferrazzi, Head of Institutional Relations at ASviS; Davide Guarini, General Secretary of Fisascat CISL; Walter Rizzetto, President of the XI Commission (Public and Private Employment); and Michele Magagna, General Director of Coopservice.

During the meeting, the key topics of the day were discussed, with an in-depth analysis by Andrea Ferrazzi from ASviS on the role of sustainability in environmental and social contexts. The need for a workplace safety approach that also considers the environmental impact of a company's activities has emerged, prioritizing employee training and the adoption of environmentally friendly practices.

The event concluded with the awards ceremony for the Coopservice construction sites that stood out for their best performance in terms of workplace safety and injury reduction (zero accident race), demonstrating that investments in safety yield tangible results for companies, employees, and customers.

Sea the Change's commitment to promoting corporate sustainability was demonstrated in this event through its sustainable management, which will lead to the calculation of the generated carbon footprint and the carbon offsetting through support for projects protecting the Venetian lagoon. Coopservice will receive a detailed impact report to transparently and measurably account for the positive impact generated, using internationally recognized KPIs such as ESRS and GRI. The badges received by the event participants were made from “carta alga” — an eco-friendly, recyclable, and biodegradable material produced from excess algae collected in fragile marine environments — further demonstrating the concrete commitment to the protection of marine ecosystems.

The collaboration with Coopservice & Servizi Italia, a company of the Coopservice Group, will continue into 2025 with the Fishing for Litter project, dedicated to the recovery of macroplastics at sea, and the launch of the first edition of Net Reborn, an initiative aimed at replacing polystyrene boxes used by fishermen, which are highly polluting if dispersed in the environment, with reusable containers made of durable material.

Participation in the event confirmed the alignment of values and visions between Sea the Change and Coopservice, who are jointly committed to promoting social and environmental sustainability within corporate contexts.
